IGGY AND THE STOOGES Forced To Postpone U.S. Tour
September 5, 2011IGGY AND THE STOOGES have been forced to postpone their U.S. tour due to Iggy Pop breaking two bones in his foot. The injury happened on August 27 at the Peninsula Festival in Romania (see video below) and the rocker was told he will need to rest up for six to eight weeks. This means that the band will not be able to commence its tour on September 7 as planned.
Commented Iggy: "I hate this, I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so fucking much and I couldn't fix it myself. Please be patient, I am so excited about these dates on the left coast."
The band will reschedule all shows as soon as it possibly can.
Wayne State University Press will publish an expanded version of Brett Callwood's 2008 book, "The Stooges: Head On", in September.
Originally published in the U.K. in 2008, "The Stooges: Head On" which features a foreword by Alice Cooper and afterword by Glenn Danzig has been revised to expand on the original story and also to consider Ron Asheton's untimely death in 2009 and his musical legacy, the band's fate without Ron, and THE STOOGES' long-overdue introduction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2010.
